Postharvest Technology of Horticulture Crops and Cold Chain Management Expert
Dr. Chris Bishop is an internationally recognized expert in postharvest technology, cold chain management, and perishable logistics, with over 40 years of academic and consultancy experience in more than forty countries. He has worked extensively on the transport of perishable and dried commodities by road, sea, and air, focusing on temperature management, stowage, damage prevention, hygiene, and quality control.
He has worked on the design, modification and justification of logistics choice at air freight handling facilities in eight African countries, and on packhouse design, management and regulatory factors such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) in ten African countries. In a recent legal case involving international airfreight of fresh produce, the lawyers and parties on both sides would not accept any other expert, and his report was the deciding factor in the adjudication.
